Business Development and Entrepreneurship
OUTLINE
The Business Planning & Entrepreneurship Course is an introductory business planning course that provides practical knowledge to participants. The course aims to equip people with working knowledge of key principles of business planning and business formation in the USA. This includes general lessons about tax status based on business classification, the importance of cost breakdowns, legal compliance, labor laws1, and rudimentary market & financial analyses. Course content also includes discussions about common business structures (e.g. LLC, S-Corp, Partnerships, Corporations) and business formation. Although this course does not go into detail about any specific industry, it does dissect the needs of traditional brick-and-mortar businesses in comparison to virtual/internet business models. This is a self-paced course that allows participants the option to select individual assignments that align with their business goals. The course experience is strengthened by instructional lessons that walk participants through the business filing process for several states in the USA.
